amy loves; soap and glory kick ass concealer

DSC08029DSC08039DSC08051DSC08042

I havn't blogged in ages, and i really am sorry. the end of april was so busy, and may is definitely one of the busiest months of the year; it's everyone under the suns birthday (including mine, yay), exams and essay deadlines, events and parties...you get the jist. I'm definitely not complaining though, as this month has been one of the best so far at university! I've got some rather exciting news, and if you follow me on twitter you'll have seen my totally over-excited tweets about it. Newcastle fashion week is also taking place this week, so expect a post all about that soon too!

Anyway, one of the better purchases i made before i had a mere £5 left in my bank (yes, i have £5, it hurts) was the soap and glory concealer i'd heard so many rave about. They weren't raving about nothing. My bobbi brown concealer just ran dry, and so this was my next call, and if i had a choice between the two, i'd choose this one. It's creamy without being too slippy, enough coverage to blur out my dark circles, and an amazing blemish conealer which evens out redness to give the illusion of perfect skin. I havn't really used the setting powder, but i can imagine it's a winner! Definitely a product to try out.

top - topshop // trousers - topshop // necklace - asos // boots - topshop

a bit of a topshop overload here, i would say sorry, but topshop have so many lovely things in at the moment its hard not to wear too much of it! i think these trousers are the best purchase (amongst 28574 others...) i made with my student loan, i love them! I've never really been one to wear trousers, jeans yes, but the more tailored style i'd never bought before, so i was a bit sceptical as to whether i'd like them on, but i do! the print is adorable too! i wore this to go out for drinks a few nights ago, but ended up taking the necklace off as i thought it was a bit too much?

i also visited the seaside on saturday, when the sun actually decided to show it's face, the weather was beautiful. we sauntered across the sand, ran away from a pack of crazy dogs, went to the aquarium and of course, ate fish and chips. even though i live in a city, half an hour on the metro and you arrive at the coast, and quite the lovely spot it is too! i havn't been to an aquirium since i was tiny, so it just made me feel like a huge kid again, pointing at every single fish and squishing my nose against the glass; but everyone loves being a child again sometimes!

how cute is this little guy?! oh, and another little ramble; i was trotting down northumberland street, actually on my way to the FABB Newcastle event, when a lady asked if i wanted to have my picture taken for Newcastle's most stylish! you can see my look here! a like counts as a vote; so if your feelin' generous you could give it a cheeky like while your there. take a peek through the other outfits though, there's some really lovely ones. I'm really excited to see what Newcastle Fashion Week brings!

amy loves; nars sheer glow

DSC07377DSC07371
nars sheer glow - £30.50

MAC face and body has been a firm favourite of mine for a while now, but when my most recent bottle was running low I decided it was time to try something new. I'm not a massive foundation lover, and only buy one when i need one, so dipping my toes into the world of high end products was pretty daunting (especially with a student loan in the mix...). The first time i applied this foundation, my initial reaction was wow. My skin looked flawless, dewy and most importantly, not cakey and orange - a similar finish to face and body, yet with a slightly better coverage.

I was matched up really well by THE most lovely mua in Space NK, she was so so helpful and definitely the nicest mua i've come into contact with in a high end store. My skin is pretty dry and sensitive, and so far it's not irritated me nor have i noticed it sinking into any dry patches. Wearing this all day, battling the wind and drizzly weather, the staying power really impressed me! I didn't notice any oxidization, with the colour keeping to it's natural tone it was when first applied, although i did use a primer. Illuminating, but not greasy, the product gives my dull morning skin a healthy lift without having to smother my face with highlighter. all in all, I LOVE IT. I haven't been using it for long, so it'll be interesting to see whether it copes with a night on the toon.

crosses all over the boulevard

necklace - c/o deliah dust

This week has been a busy one, hence the lack of posting. i've been in wales with my pappa, seen family i havn't seen in years, ate and shopped until i quite literally dropped. However, today has been a relaxing pyjama day and this deliah dust necklace was the perfect package to find when i trotted down to indulge in my 'breakfast' at about three this afternoon. It's perfectly delicate, and lies beautifully around the neck, accentuating the collar bones. I really love my silver too, and this looks lovely paired with my collection of silver rings. deliah dust has been a firm favourite of mine to find little jewellery gems for a while, and it's definitely worth a cheeky look.

everyday make-up

DSC07256
face; benefit porefessional primer, MAC face and body foundation, MAC solar riche bronzer,
MAC brit wit cream blush, bobbi brown creamy concealer and benefit high beam
eyes: Collection extreme felt tip liner, soap and glory thick and fast mascara,
clarins lash define mascara and No7 brow pencil in dark

I hadn't done an everyday face for a long time, and i've changed a lot of the products i used to use, so i thought it'd be a good post to do. My face pretty much looks like this on every blog post, and in every day life - for lectures, shopping etc. may do a night out makeup post or something? I LOVE mac face and body, and i've nearly run out, so a new one is in order once the student loan comes in! it's the perfect summery foundation as it's light and dewy, lovely. I'm also wearing my brows slightly darker recently (please, just let me be cara delevigne!) and i'm not sure how much i like it, but as my brows are growing out anyway (and i simply can't afford a new brow pencil), i'll stick with it for the time being!

i don't wanna hear about the bad blood anymore

kimono2DSC07245DSC07240DSC07244
kimono - primark // vest top - h&m // belt - vintage // jeans - deep vintage // boots - topshop

The jeans are back! i love how they can be worn in so many different ways to create so many different looks, they're super versatile and i've worn them on quite a few nights out now too. I was so shocked when i went for a browse in primark and found this little gem! it's perfect for throwing over plain dresses and wearing with outfits like this to add a little interest. The fringing is only on the front which is annoying, but apart from that, it's definitely a perfect buy! infact, i havn't been dissapointed with primark at all recently, and picked up some other little treats which i'll show you when i wear them!

i actually wore this outfit for my night out in leeds at the weekend. it was the coldest i have ever been in my entire existence. if any of you live there, you'll know what hell i went through trying to trek across the icey paths. on the bright side, during the day i did get to visit american apparel, but unfortunately could not buy the 175644 things i wanted because of my bank balance. oh, i also stumbled across one direction world, or as josh called it, hell. however, a cheeky snap with harry styles made my day! (just to clarify, it wasn't the real him, but a life size cardboard him...nearly him though.)
